NCCD Water Quality Testing Workshop

Get hands-on experience exploring local water quality!

Join the Northampton County Conservation District for a free, interactive workshop designed to teach participants how to assess and monitor stream health right here in Northampton County.
 

This outdoor workshop will take place at Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center and includes hands-on water quality testing in the Bushkill Creek. Participants will learn how to visually assess stream conditions, use water quality monitoring equipment, and better understand how everyday activities impact local waterways.

This workshop is offered in partnership with Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center educators, with additional support and real-world insight from volunteer water quality monitors with the Bushkill Stream Conservancy.

Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Lunch provided

Water Quality

What is a watershed? What watershed do you live in? How can you help protect clean water at home? All of these questions and more will be answered during our water quality testing workshop for adults. 

Stream Assessment

Get hands on experience with water quality sampling techniques, what testing parameters mean for stream health, and tips for visually assessing the health of a stream.

Protecting Resources

Hear first-hand experiences from local volunteers that do water testing for non-profit watershed associations. We'll also share tips on how you can protect water quality and water resources at home!
